Christening the 2014 Belize 54 Daybridge, “Soggy Dollar” in South Seas

We’ve just returned from our 2014 Captiva Rendezvous. This is our 10th annual rendezvous at South Seas on Captiva Island, and the weekend was outstanding! We had about 20 boats and 60 guests in attendance. Between our welcome dinner, beautiful weather, lagoon-style pools, white beaches, cocktail parties, and great company to spend the weekend with, a great time was had by all!

One of the highlights of the weekend was the christening of “Soggy Dollar”, a 2014 Belize 54 Daybridge which was purchased through SYS Broker John Daigle a couple months prior.

“Soggy Dollar” was designed in Australia and built in the renowned Kha Shing shipyard in Taiwan, a yard known for its beautiful woodwork and for its craftsmen who take great pride in building yachts to a standard of excellence. After commissioning at the shipyard, she was transported across the Pacific Ocean and through the Panama Canal to Florida to be united with the Hanson family. The Belize comes in two variations: Sedan & Daybridge. “Soggy Dollar” is the Daybridge version and is the first one purchased in North America.

We were so pleased her new owners we able take their first trip aboard the boat on our Rendezvous and honored to participate in christening the vessel. Our guests lined the dock with champagne in hand while John and the new owners stood on the bow. We all recited the ceremonial words that will bring “Soggy Dollar” and her new owners good fortune throughout the life of the vessel.
