Family fun from around the globe

Riviera is renowned for the educational, social and Experience events hosted by its international network of experienced dealers and, importantly, enjoyed by members of the very loyal global Riviera and Belize family of owners.

Behind the scenes, our dealers are also involved in many community causes, supporting a wide range of worthy charities.

Below, our passionate dealers share their recent activity …

R Marine Crawley – Australia

Sensational Spring BBQ

Runaway Bay’s R Marine Crawley hosted a Spring BBQ recently with seven yachts and 24 people enjoying a social get-together at Jumpinpin – the quick-running tidal channel that splits North and South Stradbroke islands north of the Gold Coast, Queensland (Australia). The pristine beach was the perfect location for the RMC Club marquee and beach BBQ table complete with gourmet sausages from the local Paradise Point butcher. A fun time was had by everyone who managed to escape the wind and relax on what was a lovely day in the sun.

Relishing the Redlands

The inaugural Relish Redlands food festival was the destination but the journey, as always, proved to be a major part of the fun. An R Marine Crawley flotilla of four Rivieras cruised casually up the Canaipa Passage on Saturday morning to the designated rendezvous at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron’s Canaipa Point grounds, where they were joined by another five Rivieras for an afternoon ashore followed by a BBQ and bonfire. Sunday morning was a prequel to an amazing day in Moreton Bay, with very little wind and not a cloud in sight as the yachts made their way to Raby Bay Harbour at Cleveland where the first five vessels were able to tie their back lines to the pier for front and centre tickets to the wonderful music and food vendors on offer at Relish Redlands. The group then moved to Fiction bar for VIP seating in front of the big screen to watch the National Rugby League grand final and departed Raby Bay on Monday on what can only be described as a ‘magical day’.

R Marine South Australia – Australia

Riviera Drinks – ‘Start of Spring’

Around 80 Riviera owners and guests attended a Start of Spring BBQ and social event overlooking the marina at R Marine South Australia dealership at Holdfast Shores Marina at Glenelg recently. On display during the fully catered evening were a 2016 Riviera 445 SUV as well as a 2010 Riviera 5000 Sport Yacht.

R Marine Flagship – New Zealand

Educational nights in Auckland

R Marine Flagship has recently hosted a series of fun and informative educational events for our growing contingent of Riviera and Belize owners who cruise the beautiful waters of New Zealand. The educational nights – on the first Thursday of each month – focus on topical issues such as generator maintenance or knife-sharpening. Recently, master craftsmen Steve Wheeler proved he was a cut above the rest with an interesting demonstration on custom knives in which he shared some surprising and helpful sharpening tips.

Grande Yachts International – USA

Rendezvous sets the scene

An impressive total of 26 yachts participated in the inaugural Grande Yachts Rendezvous in St Michaels, Maryland (USA) recently, where talk quickly turned to plans to cruise further south in the near future. Ned Dozier from Grande Yachts International reports there was a lot of fun with a very loyal group of friends and clients joining Riviera and Belize international sales director Chris McCafferty for a series of social and dining events, a ‘boat hop’ and a leisurely cruise.

R Marine Riley – Australia

Helping to save lives

R Marine Riley is always active in its efforts to assist worthwhile causes and charities. Recently, dealer principal Mark Riley accepted an award of appreciation for ongoing support for the New South Wales Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Greater Southern Region Service which is now on display at the Pittwater dealership and attracting a great deal of comment from clients. An example of the support is the recent donation of two separate days out on a Riviera, including lunch and champagne, for a charity auction night in Bowral. Mark reports the initial one prize was so popular – being won for $6000 – that a second was donated and won for the same price. The $12,000 provided one-third of the funds raised for the charity on the night, and half of the total the dealership has helped raise for this worthy cause.

The next charity event for R Marine Riley is the Cruise for Camp Quality event on October 18 from Pittwater. Over 20 Riviera and Belize yachts will each host one child who has been affected by cancer, and their families, for a four-hour cruise and then it’s back to Pittwater for a BBQ and activities. Reel Torque Yachts – Singapore

Singapore social scene

Riviera and recently appointed dealer Reel Torque Yachts was a supporting sponsor for the annual “Boaters Night” hosted by the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club. Founded in 1826, the members-only RSYC is the oldest yacht club in Asia with the longest boating history and heritage. Dealer principal Olivia Branson of Reel Torque Yachts – the Riviera and Belize dealer for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam – says she and proud Riviera owners were very excited to welcome over avid boaters and their families aboard the six Rivieras on display throughout the evening.
