The biggest-ever Gold Coast International Marine Expo offers much more in May

Visitors to the biggest-ever Gold Coast International Marine Expo from 19-22 May 2016 will have more to see, more to do and more to enjoy than ever before in the event’s successful six-year history.

Leading marine brands and businesses have been very quick to secure their place at ‘the boat show with so much more’, with many reserving the Expo dates for their exclusive World and Australian yacht, boat and product premieres.

“Expo 2016 will simply be an amazing experience for real boating enthusiasts,” said Event & Marketing Manager Emma Brown.  “You will definitely need a multi-day pass to see everything that there is on offer.

“We will have everything you and your family need to get out on the water and starting to make special memories.”

Mrs Brown said Expo 2016 would feature everything from luxury motor and sailing yachts to trailer boats and jet skis, kayaks to fishing equipment, engines to boating accessories across hundreds of marine displays and a giant 3km Expo display circuit.

“We will have an incredibly diverse, hands-on marine showcase both on the water and on land, complemented by fun family attractions as well as practical interactive and educational demonstrations every 15 minutes throughout four fantastic days,” she said.

“If you love boating, Expo is the place to be in May.”

Mrs Brown said the fact over 100 per cent of last year’s total exhibitor space had already been pre-sold or reserved for 2016 inspired organisers to create additional sites and infrastructure for the biggest-ever Expo in 2016.

“Such a huge offering of displays is great news for our visitors who can also enjoy free on-site car-parking, free anchorage for those who prefer to come by boat, free transfers for those coming by train, as well as options to come by bus, ferry or helicopter,” she said.

“We have also substantially increased the number of sea trial berths for people to try before they buy their boats, and created new themed precincts that are proving popular with our exhibitors, over 15 per cent of whom are new to Expo in 2016.”

Expo chairman Brett Thurley said it was part of the Expo charter to inspire more people to enjoy the rich and rewarding boating lifestyle and, at the same time, foster jobs, growth and opportunities in the broader Australian marine industry.

“People love coming here to the Gold Coast Marine Precinct and they love being a part of Expo – they are inspired by the fact Expo has both big boats and small boats and a vast array of equipment and accessory displays,” he said.

“Nowhere else in the world is there a boat show held right in the heart of the biggest boat-building facilities and recreational shipyards in the country, where visitors can experience factory tours of the biggest boat-building facilities in the Southern Hemisphere.”

The Expo is staged right in the heart of the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera – where the marine industry actually does ‘do business’ 365 days a year. In 2015 the Expo directly generated over $50 million in sales activity for exhibitors.
