Australia’s luxury motor yacht builder Riviera is preparing to roll out the red carpet for visitors to its stunning on-water luxury showcase at the 2016 Sydney International Boat Show from 28 July-1 August 2016.
The internationally acclaimed marque is inviting Riviera owners and enthusiasts to visit Darling Harbour and step aboard its latest luxurious designs in what will truly be a beacon of boating excellence.
Riviera chairman Rodney Longhurst said the full model lines of the Riviera Sport Yacht and SUV collections will be proudly on display as part of Riviera’s major 11-yacht showcase, as well as the very popular Riviera Flybridge and Belize Motoryacht collections.
“Making her World Premiere will be Riviera’s new 4800 Sport Yacht, and making their Sydney Premieres are the stylish 5400 Sport Yacht and adventurous 575 SUV designs,” he said.
“We will also display the sleek 6000 and 3600 Sport Yacht designs, the adventurous 525 and 445 SUV models, as well as the supremely seaworthy 57 and 52 Enclosed Flybridges, the very versatile 43 Open Flybridge and the timelessly classic Belize 54 Daybridge.
“Of course, there’s a special Sydney evening of Riviera-style celebration under the stars in store too.”
Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht
World Premiere
The 4800 Sport Yacht – with two spacious staterooms and two bathrooms – boasts a multitude of entertaining features and proudly takes key design cues from the extremely popular Riviera 6000 and new 5400 models.
This means all the Sport Yacht series hallmarks are embedded deeply in her DNA – sleek styling, luxurious single-level living and entertaining lay-out and superb sea-keeping capabilities.
“The 4800 Sport Yacht’s distinctive exterior profile features contemporary hull windows and porthole designs that are recessed for added protection, as well as a sports-styled targa arch, hydraulic-lifting boarding platform, large side saloon windows and curved front windscreen,” said Mr Longhurst.
“As soon as you step aboard you will notice her generous seating capacity on two lounges, the convertible cockpit table, full wet bar, double barbecue and cockpit sunroof creating a truly unique alfresco living area,” he said.
“There’s also an additional onboard entertainment zone up on the forward deck with a large sun pad with folding back rest and speakers located under the windscreen brow so the whole yacht can party together.”
Stepping through the sliding glass door and into the spacious saloon, you immediately sense the high degree of boating knowledge held by Riviera’s talented team of designers – there is a multitude of clever storage solutions and a port-side gourmet galley that ensures the smooth flow of traffic through the saloon.
“Natural light fills the expansive interior living space, with sliding side windows allowing cross ventilation when desired,” said Mr Longhurst. “An electric saloon sunroof also slides open for additional light and fresh air, or an amazing view of the stars at night.”
The 4800’s accommodation layout gives owners a large atrium lower lounge that can comfortably seat up to five adults. This space is the perfect retreat, games centre … or even a quiet workspace. At night it can also provide sleeping accommodation for an additional guest.
“The luxurious master stateroom forward features large hull windows for natural lighting, a queen-sized walk-around bed with innerspring mattress while above, as well as in with the contemporary styled en suite, there’s an overhead hatch for fresh air that screens for privacy when desired,” said Mr Longhurst.
“The VIP guest stateroom amidships features full headroom at its entry, where there is a cedar-lined hanging locker, as well as three adult-sized single beds. There’s the option of the two portside beds being able to slide together to create a double. “
Mr Longhurst said Riviera has developed a responsive new hull with keel for the 4800 Sport Yacht that is the perfect match for the state-of-the-art Volvo Penta Inboard Propulsion System (IPS).
“This means owners will enjoy Riviera’s spirited performance as well as all the smooth and fuel-efficient benefits of IPS, including easy joystick maneuverability and the innovative Glass Cockpit navigation and systems monitoring features that make boating today with Riviera even more enjoyable.” he said.
Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht – Sydney Premiere
Riviera’s very popular 5400 Sport Yacht design has already set a new standard for luxury single-level living, cruising and entertaining yachts in the mid 50-foot category and features the easy-to-use technology, practicality and hands-on operational design aspects for which Riviera is internationally renowned.
“Our very talented in-house design team has adopted a fresh-thinking approach with this new three stateroom, two bathroom layout which is an inspiring evolution of the luxury indoor/outdoor, single-level living design for which our Sport Yacht series is highly awarded,” said Mr Longhurst.
“Key features of the 5400 include the large entertainer’s cockpit, large forward deck, spacious saloon and full-beam master stateroom boasting a king-sized walk-around bed and contemporary design ensuite forward and to port,” he said.
“The VIP guest stateroom forward features a queen-sized walk-around island bed with private access to the ensuite/day head and the port-side guest stateroom features adult-sized upper and lower berths. This space has the option to serve as an atrium lounge, if desired.”
The sports-inspired centre-line helm console of the 5400 Sport Yacht has excellent visibility and ergonomics so that all critical navigation electronics, comprehensive engine instrumentation and vessel controls are within easy reach of the central, deluxe Recaro electric-adjusting helm seat.
Twin Volvo Penta IPS2-800 (2 x 441kW/626hp) pod-drive units and D11 engines are standard propulsion, with optional IPS2-950 (2 x 533kW/725hp) pod-drives and D11 engines, with joysticks located at the helm and in her cockpit.
Riviera 575 SUV – Sydney Premiere
Riviera’s new three-stateroom, two-bathroom 575 SUV is a very versatile and welcome addition to the marque’s acclaimed crossover collection that combines the high-performance, blue-water cruising and fish-raising abilities of the classic Riviera Flybridge collection, and the single-level, leisurely entertaining features of the very popular Sport Yacht design.
“Owners can choose a traditional, more-open cockpit design if they desire or enjoy the Riviera 575 SUV’s clever new cockpit and mezzanine cruising design that creates an entirely new indoor/outdoor living experience and is ideal for live-aboard blue-water adventures,” said Mr Longhurst.
“Key features of the 575 SUV include a spacious and sumptuous saloon where natural light and fresh air is introduced through opening tinted saloon side windows which, in tandem with the massive front windscreen and dual electric sunroofs, filter light below through the companionway and to the accommodation deck.
“The master stateroom extends right across the full beam and features a king-sized bed and with designer headboard detailing as well as a private ensuite. The forward guest stateroom mirrors the level of luxury in the master with a queen-size walk-around bed, while the starboard stateroom has adult-sized upper and lower beds, also with innerspring mattresses and with an ensuite that, with two-way entry, also serves as the day head.”
Riviera’s dedicated engineering team has integrated the full suite of easy-to-use and dependable marine systems into the new 575 SUV, including the very latest intuitive marine navigation and digital switching systems.
There are four a drive package choices for new the 575 SUV: Volvo Penta IPS2-950 (533kW/725hp x 2) pod-drive configuration with D11 engines, Volvo Penta IPS2-1200 (662kW/900hp x 2) pod package with D13 engines, Volvo Penta D13 Series (662kW/900hp x 2) shaft-drive package or the CAT C12.9 (735kW/1000hp x 2) shaft-drive propulsion.
The Riviera Advantage
