Riviera owners set to cruise for Camp Quality kids
Pittwater, Sydney, Australia: Riviera owners are invited to take part in a very special Camp Quality Kids Cruise on Pittwater in October in support of this very deserving children’s charity.
Riviera dealer R Marine Riley, based at Pittwater, is heading up the special event to treat children living with cancer, and their families, to a Riviera experience to treasure.
“We are hoping to have as many as 50 Rivieras take part, with one family allocated per boat,” said dealer principal Mark Riley. “At the moment we have about 20 owners committed to taking part – and the more boats we have the more families we can treat to this special experience.
“We ask families with children to also please get involved as some of the children will be able to swim and I’m sure would love to make some new friends amongst our loyal and caring Riviera family.”
Camp Quality’s purpose is to create a better life for every child under 13 years of age living with cancer in Australia.
Mark says there are very few families in Australia who, in some way, have not been touched by cancer.
He says Camp Quality advocates that laughter is the best medicine.
“It really is inspiring to see how they build optimism and resilience through each stage of the cancer journey … and their commitment extends to supporting the whole family,” he said. “They are even starting to provide support to children under 13 who have a parent living with cancer.”
“My wife Darja and I have three lovely children ourselves and many of our clients have children, so we feel compelled to support children living with cancer and their families through those difficult times.
“We thought how wonderful it would be to treat children who would not normally be able to spend a day afloat aboard a luxury Riviera to such an enriching experience … of course with the help of the Riviera family.
“To all those who have already committed to taking part, we say a BIG thank you for taking a day out on your boat and allowing us to bring some joy to children and families in a way they may not ordinarily experience.”
The Camp Quality Kids Cruise has been scheduled for October 18 and the plan for the day is to have all children arrive at 9:30am for registration, with each child partnered up with their boat prior to the day. From there, depending on each child’s needs, the flotilla shall then head out and aim to return for a barbecue at 2pm back at the Royal Motor Yacht Club at Pittwater.
Riviera owners who would like to participate are invited to receive full information and briefing pack by contacting R Marine Riley on (02) 9979 7000 or emailing Abigail Jones at abigail@rmarineriley.com.au.
