Riviera owners get into the spirit of the Gilligan’s Island theme
Jacobson’s Marina, Frankfurt, Michigan: They weren’t castaways but instead a group of Riviera owners dressed up in Gilligan’s Island theme for Bay Marine’s Summer Rendezvous held recently at Jacobson’s Marina in Frankfurt Michigan.
Mark Felhofer from Bay Marine said the Rendezvous was held from June 20 to 22, which coincided with this year’s summer solstice (the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere).
“Our weekend was filled with great meals, live entertainment, seminars and a local festival celebrating the summer solstice,” he said.
“The highlights of the weekend were a US Coast Guard rescue seminar and sanctioned flare shoot where all of our boaters were able to light-off various types of visual distress signals for real time experience.
“One of the major attractions this year was the Riviera sponsored Gilligan’s Island themed dinner followed by live entertainment and capped off with an amazing fireworks show.
“Our Riviera owners really got into the theme of the event and we had some fantastic costumes with the prize for the best dressed going to Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht owners Deb and Bob Fischer (Ginger and the Skipper) and their guests Mary and Frank Miller (Mary Ann and the Professor).”
Other winners in the 2014 best costume competition included Mary and Mark DePrey dressed as Mr and Mrs Howell and Bay Marine’s Tara and Chris DePrey dressed as Mary Ann and Gilligan.
The next event on Bay Marine’s events calendar is the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show held in Florida from October 30 to November 3.
