Two big and beautiful Riviera yachts arrive in Auckland

Auckland, New Zealand: Riviera’s commanding presence on Auckland Harbour has just been boosted with the addition of two big and beautiful new yachts to the luxurious Riviera fleet.

The iconic Australian yachts are a favorite of New Zealand’s boating aficionados, who value their supreme sea-keeping capabilities, clever lifestyle characteristics and luxurious furnishings, as well as the internationally renowned level of dealer support that comes with owning a built-to-last Riviera.

Liam Power from R Marine JDC said the newly arrived Riviera 70 Enclosed Flybridge and a new Riviera 63 Enclosed Flybridge made for an impressive sight on the harbour after their 130nm journey north from the Port of Tauranga.

“We probably have more big Riviera’s here than at any single harbour in the world,” he said. “We will have three of the six 70 Enclosed Flybridges that were built, the first Riviera 75 Enclosed, three 63 Enclosed Flybridges and two 61s, seven 60’s as well as seven of its predecessor the Riviera 58 Enclosed Flybridges.

“That’s an impressive list of the big Rivs!”

The newly arrived 70 is a fully refurbished yacht after its extensive refit at the Riviera Aftermarket facility at Coomera on the Gold Coast, Australia.

“It was purchased by a long-time Riviera owner who has had several Riviera’s over the years, from cruising yachts to the more serious sport fishing rigs.

“The 70 refit included moving the galley aft to enhance the indoor/outdoor characteristics of boat,” he said. “It now has a brand new saloon and galley, with new carpets, benchtops and headliners, while upstairs the ‘sky lounge’ has taken on the same level of refit.

“Riviera Aftermarket did an exceptional job, fitting a new tuna tower and other customised features – they even painted the hull a beautiful deep tungsten silver.”

The refurbished 70 will remain in Auckland until the middle of next year, when her avid angler owner plans to take her north to fish the bountiful waters of Fiji and Tonga.

Liam said the New Zealand love affair for the entire Riviera range of luxury yachts has been heightened since the Auckland Boat Show just a few weeks ago.

“In the past eight weeks New Zealand has taken delivery of three new Riviera’s plus the refitted 70 enclosed. The new boats consist of a 63 Enclosed Flybridge, 565 and 515 SUV with gyro and will also see the third 70 Enclosed Flybridge arriving soon, also bought by a New Zealand owner,” he said.

“These two latest boats will add to an already strong showcase of our luxurious, world-class Riviera yachts in Auckland Harbour.”
